Hello students!  Today we are going to work on Unit 5e and deal with story telling.
Open your students´ book on page 72. 


➤In exercise 1, you can see a set of pictures which are the sequences of a short story. 

💬 Can you guess what happened?  Now read the sentences on your left, to understand the story. 

The word Burglary is a noun and it means:  the crime of breaking into and entering the house, office, etc., of another to steal
The person that commits a burglary is called Burglar  /ˈbɜːrglər/

In exercise 2, we have another story.   

💬 Can you guess what´s wrong with the man in the picture?  Read the story carefully. 

Activity 1:  Once you finish reading, put the pictures in order. Write 1-5. 
When we read stories like these ones, you can see that there is a layout that is followed ↠


And that some connectors are necessary for the coherence of the story 

Now that you know the format of a short story, it´s time for writing!
Activity 2: WRITING  ⇒  Below, there is a chart with examples of possible Characters, Settings and Problems. You are going to choose the options the you like the most and write a spooky (scary) short story in about 15 lines.

Hi Students!  Today we will start revising the pronuciation of "Regular Verbs". So, go to page 65 of the student´s book, ex. 4. 
💬 How do you pronounce "Looked" - "Loved" - "Started"? 

Activity 1:  Put the verbs under the correct column according to what you have learnt. Then I will check it for you. 
...Now, let´s practice "Irregular verbs"

Activity 2:  Below you will find a quiz which has to be completed with the past form of the verbs given. Once you finish, sum up the correct ones and get your score below!


Let´s go to page 66 of the student´s book and start Unit 5B!

Warm- up:  Today we will start as always doing some revision of the grammar topics we covered in Unit 4. So let´s go to the Workbook:
↠ page 44. Complete exercises C and D with the "Quantifiers" (any- some- much/many- a lot of- a little/a few).


↠Page 45, ex. E. Practice the use of "Should" matching the sentences halves.




...Now, let´s go to page 64 of the student´s book.




   Read the title: "Red in the face?" and look at the pictures.

💬 What do you think it happened?  

Activity 2:  Listening ⇒ Listen to the two stories and then practice reading aloud checking your pronunciation.

Let´s analyse now the structures of Positive and Negative sentences in the past.



As you know, verbs in the past are divided into "Regular" or "Irregular" (go to page 137 of the student´s book and go carefully through the past form of these verbs).
Let´s study the spelling rules of  Regular Verbs


Activity 3:  To practice the spelling rules of regular verbs, complete the following exercise.


Activity 4GRAMMAR ⇒  Let´s do some practice. Complete  only the positive and negative sentences with the verbs in the right form, bearing in mind the construction of both positive and negative sentences explained in the chart above.

Warm up: Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well. Today we will start with some revision of the grammar topic we learn last class, "Object Pronouns & Subject Pronouns"

💬  What can you see in the pictures in ex. 1? People having different health problems, right?


  To learn some vocabulary about "Illnesses", you will complete the bubbles with the terms in the box.

💬 What do you do when you have any of these health problems? Do you visit the doctor?


Activity 2 Listening ⇒You will listen to a conversation between a patient (Mr Hill) and the doctor.
Listen and then  read in a loud voice checking your pronunciation.

💬 What is the doctor´s advice to Mr Hill?    ⇲     You should try to find ways to relax. 

What is this verb in bold?  It is a modal verb!  Let´s analyse it a little bit...

"SHOULD" is used to:   ⏩  ask for and give advice
                                       ⏩ express an opinion
                                       ⏩ make a suggestion

Structure of SHOULD in positive sentences:  

SHOULD ⍆  bare infinitive   ex. You should GO to the doctor 

Negative sentence:

SHOULD NOT or SHOULDN´T ⍆  bare infinitive ex. You shouldn´t smoke

Activity 3Grammar ⇒Let´s practice this new grammar topic. Go to page 41 of the WB and complete ex. B 




Activity 4: to finish practising the use of "Should", you will go to page 59 of the SB, ex. 4.







Writing ⇒   Read about Andy´s problem. What do you think he should do?
Write a letter to Andy giving him some advice (remember to use "Should" or "Shouldn´t when appropiate).

Activity 4Reading⇒  Read the flyer about a volunteer organisation called "Get Involved"  and see how they plan to change these children´s lives!

Let´s read the letter below the flyer written by Beth, a person who has joined this organisation.




I will take this sentence from the letter for some analysis:

" This year about 20 volunteers are going to Nepal for ten days and I´m going with them". 

💬  What is the word in bold?  a noun? an adjective? or a pronoun?  ⇒ It´s a Pronoun!  and specifically it´s called                                                                                                                 "OBJECT PRONOUN

Analyse the chart below for a clear explanation of how "Pronouns" work in a sentence (Object and Subject too).

First, before reading the text, let´s make a revision of vocabulary about Food. 









Activity 1:   Look at the picture and match them with the names above.


Activity 2:  Reading →Read the text in exercise 2 and then do exercise 2B to check comprehension of the text.

Activity 3:  Listening → exercise 5 on page 53. Listen to three short dialogues and complete the sentences. Choose a or b.
