Are you ready for another English lesson? Great! 😊




Today we're going to continue working on Unit 6, so open your Student's Book on page 84: 6e. Lights, camera, action!

Read the title of the unit and look at the following picture. What are we going to talk about during this lesson? 


1. VOCABULARY
Let's start revising some vocabulary related to films. Look at the words in the box (click here to listen to their pronunciation ➡️audio). Then, categorize the words under the correct heading. 


2. LISTENING
Now, read the questions in the Listening part, exercise A. Answer those questions and send me your answers ✉️. Then, complete exercise B. Click on this link (➡️audio) so as to listen and check your answers. 


DiCaprio is one of my favourite actors. I also recommend you films like Shutter Island, Inception, Catch me if you can and Django unchained, among others ⭐⭐⭐

Listen again and complete exercise C. 


3. WRITING
Read the questions in A and answer them (send me your answers ✉️). Read (and ➡️listen) the film review and complete exercises B, C and D. 


Now you will have to write a film review. Read the WRITING TASK and the TIP box. Complete the activity and send me your text via -email ✉️.

Look at the pictures. What do you think you are going to read about? Do you know anything about these events? Have you ever seen any of them? 

1. READING.
Read the statements in exercise A and complete the exercise. Then, read (and ➡️listen) the texts and check your answers. 
After that, complete exercise C. 


Remember that you can use the dictionary to help you understand new vocabulary (➡️Wordreference).

1. LISTENING & READING
Look at the title of the unit and the picture.What do you think we're going to talk about?
Read the question in exercise 1A and answer it. Then, listen and read the conversation below (➡️audio) and answer the questions in exercise C.

2. VOCABULARY
Now we're going to work with words and collocations related to sports. First of all, do you know what collocations are?

Now, as you can see in the pictures in the Vocabulary part, we're using words/collocations related to sport. So, follow this another link to revise how to use the verbs PLAY, GO and DO correctly (➡️Sport Verbs). 

Now you are ready to complete exercises A and B in the Vocabulary part. 


3. GRAMMAR
Let's revise some grammar. Do you remember what Modal Verbs are? Great!
Today we're going to work with Modals. Watch the following video which explains the uses of MAY, MIGHT and COULD (Modals of possibility/probability).

Are you ready for more English?
Let's get started 😀



1. First, open your Student's Book on page 68. Today we're going to work with UNIT 5d, In the news. Look at the article on this page, Train Derailed by Sheep! What type of text is it? READ the text and complete the True/False exercise in C. (Click here and ➡️listen). 


Now, on the next page there's a vocabulary exercise you have to do with the same text. Read the instruction and complete the exercise. Remember that in these type of exercises you can use the dictionary to help you. (I recommend ➡️Wordreference)


2. VOCABULARY. There's more vocabulary to revise. 
Algunas palabras en inglés suelen ser confusas para los hispanohablantes porque cuando las traducimos al español tienen significados similares; pero se utilizan en contextos distintos, o para referirnos a diferentes situaciones. 
Read the sentences. Identify the meaning of the words (you can use the ➡️dictionary). Complete the sentences. 


3. GRAMMAR. Now, we're going to learn a new grammar structure called PASSIVE VOICE
Watch the following video. The explanation is very clear. 

 

La Voz Pasiva se puede formar con todos los tiempos verbales. Pero por ahora sólo nos concentraremos en Present Simple Passive Voice y Past Simple Passive Voice. Por lo tanto, miren el video sólo hasta revisar esas dos estructuras, para evitar confusiones. 

4. PRACTICE. Complete the sentences with Present Simple Passive or Past Simple Passive.

1. VOCABULARY. First of all, watch the video below to understand what IDIOMS are. 


2. Do you know the meaning of SURPRISED, EMBARRASSED and ANNOYED? If you don't know, you can check with the dictionary (➡️Wordreference). 
Match these adjectives with the pictures below. 



 3. Now, you're going to read some sentences with idioms which express these three feelings (surprised, embarrassed and annoyed). Match the sentences with the feelings. (Click here ➡️vocabulary if you want to listen to the sentences). 


4. LISTENING. Look at the pictures in exercise 2B and try to predict the story. What happened? Now, listen to Lucy telling a friend what happened to her and put the pictures in order. (Click here ➡️Listen). 

5. Listen again and mark the sentences True (T) or False (F). 

6. WRITING. On page 71 there are some writing exercises. Read the text on that page ("A day I'll never forget") and answer the questions in 4B. (Click here if you want to listen while you read ➡️Listen). 


7. Let's practice linking words/phrases. You have to complete exercise C. 

8. Finally, you'll have to write something about your own experience. Read the instruction and the TIP box carefully and write about you. (Please, remember to send me this text).
