Aclaro un poco el tema de los posesivos:

My mother´s name    significa  El nombre de mi mama.

My husband´s car     significa  El auto de mi marido.

Her sister´s cat          significa  El gato de su hermana.

Pam´s house             significa  La casa de Pamela.

The cat´s tail             significa  La cola del gato

His cousin´s friend   significa  El amigo de su primo.

Bill´s hair                 significa  El pelo de Bill.

Si pregunto, What is your mother´s name? 

Contestarías, My  mother´s name is (Maria).

Y despues vimos el verbo have got (tener de posesion). Acordate que hice un texto en la clase 11 usando este verbo.

Ok. Resalté la palabra ADJETIVO a propósito. Un adjetivo, tanto en español como en inglés, describe un sustantivo (una persona, un lugar ó una cosa). En inglés, la posición de un adjetivo es, generalmente, antes de un sustantivo. Miren:

B. Ahora, el verbo to be, que algunos todavia no entienden muy bien. Primero, vayan a la clase 2 y re veen el video. A veces, la segunda vez, se entiende mejor. De todas maneras, aquí hay otro video:

This unit is about jobs. Esta unidad se trata de las ocupaciones.

En inglés, cuando le preguntamos a una persona a que se dedica, ó que es lo que hace, se pregunta así:

What do you do? (Que haces?) Ojo! What are you doing? significa: Que estás haciendo (en este momento)?

 En inglés, nosotros ponemos un articulo (un, una) antes de la mayoría de los trabajos en singular. Por ejemplo, decimos:

She is a doctor.  I am a mechanic.  My cousin is an* engineer.  Paula is an* architect.

Pero no en plurales:

They are doctors.  We are mechanics.  My cousins are engineers. Paula and Pete are architects.

* a antes de consonantes, pero an antes de vocales.

• la pronunciacion de los numeros
• que cuando hablamos de la edad, usamos el verbo to be (ser, estar) y NO, have (tener)! How old are you? Como si fuera, cuantos años eres? I am thirty (years old). He is fifty.
• que cuando estamos hablando de numeros de telefono, fechas (ej. 1902) y direcciones,  generalmente, no decimos zero, sino, oh. ej., My telephone number is 235 0931 (two-three-five- oh-nine-three-one).
