INGLÉS - Adultos 7 - San Luis (Grupo 2) Teacher Matías Ponce - Clases del 21/04 y 23/4

Hello Students! These are the exercises and objectives for this week.

Is there anything wron with this ad? Where can you find this ad? What's the name of the segment?

Sure you noticed that I was just trying to introduce an idea. Lonely Hearts was (still is!) an alternative for finding a partner. Currently, online dating is one of the fastest growing services on the Internet. In a world where every time more people are busy with their full time jobs and little time for social activities, finding a date online is becoming increasingly popular. Now there are online dating agencies, websites, phone applications and many more platforms allowing people to meet.

Ex. 1,a: Make a comment on the WhatsApp group. Just choose one option and give one
justification. Send a text or voice message.

Ex. 4: Write  the profile of your friend in this paddlet wall:
https://padlet.com/poncematias26/6iqbojqy4qv9af7n

PLEASE, try to do these exercises by Friday.

You also have to do the  exercises  on the Review and practice page. Please, do them first in your
books and then check with the keys.

INGLÉS - Adultos 7 - San Luis (Grupo 2) Teacher Matías Ponce - Clases del 14/04 y 16/4

Hi students!
These are the lessons and objectives for this week!
It's very important that you watch the videos I uploaded to the Drive, otherwise this blog is worthless.

First of all, we are going to study Present Perfect in contrast with Past Simple. It's super recommendable that as you do the exercises, you watch the video.

Homework 1: You're going to watch a short film about siblings. After you watch it, answer the questions and complete the phrases with your ideas and impressions.

Answer:
1       .       Have you got any brothers or sisters? What’s the biggest thing you have done for them or they have done for you?
2       .       Why does Joe’s wife react the way she does?
3       .       What does Charlie mean when he says “it’s gonna be alright”?
4       .       Why is the film titled Inseparable?
5       .       Does the film have a message?
6       .       How does the film make you feel?
7       .       Do you know any story, real or fiction, in which siblings have done a big important thing for each other?

Complete the lines in relation to the film:
• I liked …
• It reminded me of …
• I felt confused/excited/surprised/unhappy/frightened when …

-----

Phrasal verbs!
We revised some theory about them in the first lessons of the year: Do you remember what phrasal verbs are and their structure?

Just to warm up, complete the jokes with the verbs from the chart.

In this vocabulary unit you have a set of exercises regardin phrasal verbs. Again, I recomend watching the video to help you with the theory and to make clear the homework you have to submit.

Homework 2: Pick at least 3 quuestions of exercise 4 and answer them using phrasal verbs. You can answer them individually or try and make a parragraph. Send a voice message!

INGLÉS - Adultos 7 - San Luis (Grupo 2) Teacher Matías Ponce - Clase del 2 de abril

Dear students!
I hope you are doing very well and that you are handling the quarantine situation in the best possible way. I want to congratulate you for the effort you are making working from home, completing the exercises and sending them for correction.

Clearly this "distance learning" is sometimes not so effective... So this week I am going to offer you the opportunity to communicate individually through a video call, call or exchanging audios through WhatsApp. The idea is that whoever has a query, writes to me privately and I'll assign a timetable for Thursday in class time so I can promptly attend to each of your doubts and even explain some things that through chat or email can be a little complicated.

Let's work with the contrast between Present Simple and Present Continuous (also calle Present Progressive). I sure you remember we usePresentsimple to talk about routines, states, habitual actions, etc., and we use the Continuous tense to talk about things happening in this very moment or arround this very moment... also wen we talk about temporary situations. Can we use any of these tenses to refer to the future? Which one? How?!

Are you doing the exercises in the workbook?!!! They should be completed up to page 7.

Homework: I'd like you to tell me how you are spending this unusual period of quarantine. This is free writing/speaking, so you don't have any limits, but try and use Present Simple and Continuos as much as you can. You can send an email, a text, an audio, a video or whatever you prefer... just do it! The deadline is today.
