When do we use past simple or past progressive (past continuous)
Remember
We use past simple for
  • Actions that started and finished in the past.
  • When two actions happened one after the other. Es decir, cuando dos acciones van continuadas una termina y automaticamente otra comienza.
We use past continuous for:
  • Actions that were in progress in the past
  • For two actions happening at the same time.
Finally we can use past simple and past continuous in the same sentence.
This happens when an action that was in progress is interrupted by a new action.
For the action in progress we use Past Continuous
For the action that interrupts we use Past Simple

🌻Adjectives ending in -ED and -ING

A. Read
Adjectives that end in -ed (e.g. bored, interested) and adjectives that end in -ing (e.g. boring, interesting) are often confused.

-ed adjectives

Adjectives that end in -ed generally describe emotions – they tell us how people feel.
I was so bored in that lesson, I almost fell asleep.
He was surprised to see Helen after all those years.
She was really tired and went to bed early.

-ing adjectives

Adjectives that end in -ing generally describe the thing that causes the emotion – a boring lesson makes you feel bored.
Have you seen that film? It's really frightening.
I could listen to her for hours. She's so interesting.
I can't sleep! That noise is really annoying!

Today's lesson is a bit difficult. So, keep calm and let's work.


QUANTIFIERS
1. How much? / How many?

Remember
💣How much is used in questions and with uncountable nouns.
How much rice do you eat in one week?
How much coffee do you drink in the morning?
💣How many is also used in questions but with countable nouns.
How many slices of pizza did Sam eat?
How many jelly beans did you buy?


2. MUCH / MANY
A LOT OF / LOTS OF

💣Much and Many are mainly used is negative and interrogative sentences. 
Much is used with uncountable nouns.
Many is used with uncountable nouns.

💣A lot of and Lots of mean large quantities of something. They are not common used in negative and interrogative sentences but they are likely to appear in affirmative tenses.

3. FEW / A FEW
LITTLE / A LITTLE
4. SOME / ANY / NO

💣Some is used in affirmative sentences and in formal questions.
Would you like some coffee?
I've got some friends.

💣Any is used in negative sentences and in informal questions.
I haven't any money in my pocket.
Did you drink any beer last night?

💣No is used in affirmative sentences but when the context is negative.
My brother has no food in his fridge.
There is no water in the jar.
