ANGLIA Exam Preparation at IDI - B2

Hi all! How are you? Hope you're very well!

Are you ready for another online lesson?
Hope you are! Let's get started!

EXERCISE 1: British VS American English

EXERCISE 2: Unit 1 - Vocabulary and discussion

Before you go to unit 1, write down as many tourist attractions as you can!
For example, "theatre".

What can tourists do in the place where you live?

Ok, now you're ready to start with unit 1.

Look at the name of the unit and try to guess the meaning of the expression "off the beaten track". Here's an example sentence to help you:

I try to avoid the crowds when I'm on holiday. I like to go to places off the beaten track. I just get in my car and drive to these remote places that very few people know of.

Look at unit 1. In the box there's vocabulary related to attractions. Which of these places do the photos show? Which is your favourite? Would you like to go to one place you've never visited before?

Discuss the questions in the box. Try to give interesting answers that are not too short. Use adjectives, examples, etc. to make your answers more interesting! 🙉

Example: When I'm on holiday, I love visiting acquariums. I have two children and they just adore these fun places. We usually spend a lot of time and take lots of photos of the different, colourful fishes and other sea animals in the tanks.

EXERCISE 3: Discussion

EXERCISE 4: Grammar and discussion

EXERCISE 5: ANGLIA Exam Practice - Reading (section R1)

Ok, guys, that's all for today!
Remember, as usual, to whatsapp your voice notes with your answers to the discussion questions in this unit. 🙈

Bye for now! Take good care!

ANGLIA Exam Preparation at IDI - B2

Hi guys! As you all know, due to our current circumstances, we won't be seeing each other for a while, so here's your chance to keep up with your course.

So, let's get started, shall we?

Tips to improve your English.

EXERCISE 1
Discuss the following questions and please share your answers as a voice note on your Whatsapp group. 🙈

  • How often do you speak or write in English?
  • What do you find the easiest and the most difficult thing about learning English?
  • What do you think you could do to help you improve those difficult areas you thought about in the previous question?
EXERCISE 2
Look at this extract from your coursebook. Read the instructions and do the exercise. There may be more than one possible answer in some cases, but if you need some help, please do ask your questions on Whatsapp.

EXERCISE 3: VIDEO ACTIVITY

Watch the videos and answer these questions.

1) What other advice is mentioned in the two videos?
2) Did you find any of the tips particularly useful? Why?

Get ready to write your comments below! 👇

Ok, that's all for today. It's a simple lesson, but still very useful to get you started. Next class we'll be watching a video of a candidate taking the ANGLIA test, so you get a better idea of what the exam involves AND you'll notice that, with that extra bit of effort, you'll all manage to succeed in it.

Ok, by for now. Take good care of yourselves!
