There was a lot of positive feedback, which was very encouraging.
It's very encouraging that Andrew is in favour of the project.
It's encouraging to hear that the government is finally listening to us.

You don't seem very enthusiastic about the party - don't you want to go tonight?
Well, you could try to look a little more enthusiastic!

Let´s now turn to page 93 on your handout!

TASK 1
Exercise 5. Use the information given to make questions and then answer them giving personal information.

For example: What/you/learning? Why? = What are you learning these days? Why are you learning it?

TASK 2
Read the text "Mistakes that work..." and answer the questions on exercise 8.

Unknown Vocabulary
Light bulb (n) = a glass object containing a wire inside which produces light from electricity.
Post-it note (n) = a small piece of paper that you can write on and then stick to other papers or surfaces.
Unlikely (adj) = not expected to happen
Attempt (n) = try
Dough /dou/ (n) = a thick mixture of flour and liquid used to make bread or pastry.
Glue (n) = a substance used to stick things together.
Chairman (n) = manager

TASK 3
Exercise 9. Read the "correction system" for mistakes  people meke when they write. Now, correct the text using this correction code. Remember:

Wrong word = incorrect vocabulary item
Wrong tense = incorrect verb tense
Wrong form = incorrect word category, e.g. a verb for a noun or and adjective for an adverb
Wrong order = incorrect word position e.g. adjective after a noun
Spelling = orthography
Punctuation = incorrect use of commas, stops, questions marks, etc
Something is missing = a word is not where it should be. It´s been left out.

Due to the coronavirus situation, this lesson will be held online! So, let´s get going!

TASK 1
Turn to page 92 and the exercises 1, 2 and 3.


VOCABULARY
Learn sth by heart = learn sth by memorising everything
Pick sth up = learn sth without any intention
Steep learning curve = the rate of someone´s progress in learning a new skill
Be thown into sth = be made to cope with sth complicated
Crash course = intensive course

TASK 2
Exercise 4. Listen to the sprekers again and tick the expressions you hear. Then memorise the expression for a speaking exercise in our next face-to.face class!
