Hello there! How's it going?
Are you ready for more English?
Let's get started 😀
1. First, open your Student's Book on page 68. Today we're going to work with UNIT 5d, In the news. Look at the article on this page, Train Derailed by Sheep! What type of text is it? READ the text and complete the True/False exercise in C. (Click here and ➡️listen).
Now, on the next page there's a vocabulary exercise you have to do with the same text. Read the instruction and complete the exercise. Remember that in these type of exercises you can use the dictionary to help you. (I recommend ➡️Wordreference)
2. VOCABULARY. There's more vocabulary to revise.
Algunas palabras en inglés suelen ser confusas para los hispanohablantes porque cuando las traducimos al español tienen significados similares; pero se utilizan en contextos distintos, o para referirnos a diferentes situaciones.
Read the sentences. Identify the meaning of the words (you can use the ➡️dictionary). Complete the sentences.
3. GRAMMAR. Now, we're going to learn a new grammar structure called PASSIVE VOICE.
Watch the following video. The explanation is very clear.
La Voz Pasiva se puede formar con todos los tiempos verbales. Pero por ahora sólo nos concentraremos en Present Simple Passive Voice y Past Simple Passive Voice. Por lo tanto, miren el video sólo hasta revisar esas dos estructuras, para evitar confusiones.
4. PRACTICE. Complete the sentences with Present Simple Passive or Past Simple Passive.
For further practice, click on the following links
➡️Passive Voice 1
➡️Passive Voice 2
➡️Passive Voice 3
➡️Passive Voice 4
➡️Passive Voice 5
5. WRITING. Read the newspaper headings below and choose two of them (Student's Book page 69, exercise 5.Speaking). Use your imagination to describe what happened in the two situations you chose. (Send it to me via e-mail ✉️)
That's all for today!
Hope you're doing well.
See you soon 😃
