Now, please begin unit 2. Start on page 21. Read, In this module you will.... to familiarize yourself with what we will be looking at in Unit 2. 

Please, go on to page 22, Reading, and follow the instructions. You will read the introduction to the classic story Ivanhoe, and then read the short extract from the book. Read the texts quickly the first time do understand the main idea. Try to guess the meanings of the words you do not know. Then, read them again, this time looking up any words you did not know.

B. What does the writer do in this extract:
