Hello everyone!
Welcome to lesson #5 07/04
Hope you're all great !
1. First, let's revise what we saw last class! Open your workbooks, page 56.
A) Vocabulary:
B) Modals of ability, past and present:
C) Now, open your student's books, page 101. Continue revising modals doing exercises 8 and 9.
2. Pronunciation: Connected speech. Do exercise 10 a and b
Audio: 2.18
Audio: 2.18
Audio: 2.19
As you could notice, all words are connected! There are 3 situations in which words can link to each other.
- When a word ends in consontan and the next one starts with a vowel. For example: There's a red apple in the table.
- When a /t/ and /d/ sounds are next to each other, they become one sound. For example: I can't draw well. (You omit /t/)
- When a word ends in "r" and the next one starts with a vowel, you have to pronoun "r". For example: My mother is great.
3. Now, do exercise 11. Read the notes of exercise A. Then, listen to Jake being interviewed about his abilities. And write what he says about the things in exercise A.
