When do we use past simple or past progressive (past continuous)
Remember
We use past simple for
- Actions that started and finished in the past.
- When two actions happened one after the other. Es decir, cuando dos acciones van continuadas una termina y automaticamente otra comienza.
We use past continuous for:
- Actions that were in progress in the past
- For two actions happening at the same time.
Finally we can use past simple and past continuous in the same sentence.
This happens when an action that was in progress is interrupted by a new action.
For the action in progress we use Past Continuous
For the action that interrupts we use Past Simple
