Do/take a course = have a series of lessons about a subject
I did a cooking course last year at university.
Pass an exam/test = be successful in a test/exam
Although I didn´t study much, I passed all my English tests last year.
Fail an exam/test = not be successful in a test/ exam; not pass
Mary took several driving tests but unfortunately for her, she failed all of them.
Get a degree = complete a university course
We finally graduated and got a degree in medicine last February.

Information technology = the use of computers and other electronic equipment to store and send information
Modern languages = languages that are spoken now such as Spanish or German

Miss out = to not do or have something that you would enjoy or something that other people do or have

Meet up = to meet another person in order to do something together
I met up with a few friends yesterday.
