Lesson 1 16/03: Countable and Uncountable nouns
Welcome!
1. Watch the video about COUNTABLE and UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS.
2. Put the noun in the correct category: YOGHURT - APPLE - CARROT - CHEESE - LETTUCE - SAUSAGE - ORANGE - PUMPKIN - HAM - GARLIC - MILK - BUTTER
3. Countable and Uncountable Nouns: A - AN - SOME: Read
A and AN
-We use A/AN (articles) with SINGULAR countable nouns.
-A/AN is generally used in AFFIRMATIVE and NEGATIVE sentences.
Examples:
My brother has a dog and my sister has a cat.
There is an accident on the corner.
There isn't a book on the table.
I haven't got an umbrella.
SOME
-We use SOME with PLURAL nouns and UNCOUNTABLE nouns.
-Some is generally used in AFFIRMATIVE sentences.
Examples:
I have some information for you. (Positive - Uncountable)
We met some friends yesterday. (Positive - Plural Countable)
4. Do exercise 4 Page 65 (SB) using A, AN or SOME.
5. Do exercise 5 Page 65 PRONUNCIATION. Listen and tick the sound you hear /I/ /i:/
6. In a MICROSOFT WORD FILE, write a paragraph (50 words) about what food you like and don't like using A, AN, SOME. Send the paragraph to my email allerda@ulp.edu.ar Name the word file with your surname and level, for example LERDA - Adulto 2 Gr 1. DEAD LINE: 18/03/2020
