Then please write a short conversation using some of the phrases learnt and send me a picture of it by e-mail to rominagrdin@gmail.com.
Activity 2: Starting Unit 1b. If you look at the picture on page 10, you will see different flags of different countries. Can you name some of them? Now, to continue learning about names of countries, I have attached a document that includes pictures of flags. Do you know the flags? Match them with their names. Then in the puzzle find the Nationalities. (Una vez que terminen la actividad de la pág. 1, encontrarán las respuestas correctas en la página 2).

Activity 3: Now, go to page 10 of the Student´s Book and read the conversation in exercise 2.
Veamos esta oración tomada del diálogo: I am Spanish, I am from Madrid. In red, we see the subject of the sentence and we call it Subject Pronoun (un pronombre, es una palabra que reemplaza al nombre. Es decir que en el sujeto de la oración podemos encontrar el nombre de quien realiza la acción (ej: Susan) o el pronombre (She -en lugar de Susan)). In English, the Subject Pronouns are:
Singular Pronouns
I (Carol)
SHE (Susan)
HE (Peter)
IT (we use it for objects, animals, places)
Plural Pronouns
You (Tom)
We (Tom, Peter and I)
They (Tom and Peter)
Now, if we continue analysing the same sentence (I AM Spanish). The word in red is the Verb of the sentence. We call it in English "Verb TO BE". La forma del verbo va a depender siempre del sujeto de la oración. Let´s see:
I AM a student.
She IS a student.
They ARE students
So, the forms of the Verb are: AM - IS - ARE
Let´s do some practice of Pronouns and Verb To Be. Exercise 1: Replace the nouns with a Personal Pronoun (I, He, She, It, You, We, They).
Exercise 2: Complete the sentences with "Am, Is or Are".
