1. First, Let's revise! 

COUNTRIES AND NATIONALITIES: Complete the table (Completa la tabla)

2. PRONOUNS: Write the correct pronoun. (Escribe el pronombre correcto)

3. Now, Open your books. Page 11. GRAMMAR: Verb "BE".  

(Hoy, solo veremos el verbo "BE", dejaremos POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES para la próxima clase)

• El verbo "BE" significa SER o ESTAR. Y se conjuga de la siguiente manera: (Copia las estructuras en tu cuaderno)

Affirmative:

Se utiliza para realizar oraciones afirmativas. En este cuadro podemos ver la forma completa y la forma corta. Podemos usar una o la otra.

*** Nos damos cuenta de que significa "ser" o "estar" de acuerdo al contexto. Por ejemplo:

                          I'm a student (Yo soy un estudiante)

                          He's at home (Él está en casa)

Negative

Se utiliza para realizar oraciones negativas. 

Por ejemplo: I'm not a student ( Yo no soy una estudiante) 

*** "I am not" Tiene una única forma corta ⇀ I'm not. 

El resto de los pronombres tienen dos formas cortas: 

You are not ⇀ You're not / You aren't

He is not ⇀ He's not / He isn't

She is not ⇀ She's not / She isn't

It is not ⇀ It's not / It isn't

We are not ⇀ We're not/ We aren't

They are not ⇀ They're not

Interrogative

Se utiliza para realizar preguntas. Por ejemplo: Are you a student? (¿Tu eres un estudiante?)

***Para responder podemos hacerlo de la siguiente manera:

 La respuesta SIEMPRE comienza con SI o NO, luego utilizamos el PRONOMBRE que corresponda y luego el VERBO "BE" que corresponda (afirmativo o negativo). 

Por ejemplo:

                    Is he a teacher? Yes, he is 

                    Are they kids? No, they aren't

**Si la respuesta es "yes" el verbo "be" es afirmativo; si la respuesta es "no" el verbo "be" es negativo. Siempre acompaña a la respuesta. Yo NO puedo decir, por ejemplo: Yes, I'm not ✘
